COACHING STAFF 2017-2018
Heather Pryse, Club Director: This is Heather second year as the Club Director, she has coached for Team Yakima for three seasons. For last six years, she has been a high school volleyball coach at Riverside Christian, Davis High School and currently at Selah High School. Heather has played for Selah High School and Club. She currently still loves to play with her co-ed team. Teaching and growing the game of volleyball is her passion.
Jensyn McCoy: This is Jensyn's 4th year coaching for Team Yakima. During high school she was a 1st team player all 4 years and was awarded as an all area player her junior and senior year. She went on to play at the D2 collegiate level for 2 years. Jensyn said "some of my best memories playing Volleyball were during my club years, which is something that I hope the girls on my team can experience as well".
Molly Cavanaugh: This is Molly's second year with Team Yakima and her second year coaching club volleyball. Molly played at Yakima Valley College and Selah High School.
Michelle Howell Burtis: Michelle played Varisty volleyball at Wapato in 1996, Varsity volleyabll at Eisenhower from 1997-2000, she played colliegate vollyeball at North Idaho College from 2000-2002 and Montana Tech 2002-2003. MIchelle has many years of experience coaching club for two years at Club Idaho NW, four years at Cascade Jrs VBC and currently 3 years with Team Yakima
Cody Thompson: This is Cody's 2nd year as a Team Yakima Volleyball Coach. He was the vice president for Eastern Washington University's men's club team where he played as their libero and back up setter. He continues to play coed volleyball on a regular basis.
Sara Ketzenberg: I grew up mostly in Yakima, and started playing volleyball in 7th grade at Riverside Christian with Shanee Andreas as my coach. I played for West Valleys club ball back when they had one. This is the 6th volleyball season I have coached. I have coached for Riverside Christian, and am proud to say this is my 3rd season with Team Yakima. Although coaching is a huge part of my life, I am also a 1st grade teacher, and currently going to school for my masters degree so that one day I can become an athletic director.
Michele Taylor: This is Michele's 3rd year as a Team Yakima Volleyball Coach. She also coached at East Valley HS for 2 years and Lewis and Clark Middle School for 4 years. She was a high school 4 year varsity player at East Valley HS.
Nicole Marang: This is Nicole's 4th year as a Team Yakima Volleyball Coach. She played club volleyball for 6 years for Columbia Jrs and played at CBC for 2 years. Then moved on to use her skills as an assitant coach.
Rachel Wood: This is Rachel's 3rd year as a Team Yakima Volleyball Coach. Previous to joining Team Yakima, she has coached for 8 years in Oregon (5 years as an 8th grade coach, 2 years as a high school JV coach and 3 years as a club coach). She has personally played volleyball throughout her entire schooling, from middle school through high school and into college at the intramural level.
Brenda Moore: Brenda started her volleyball career with Team Yakima as a member of the U-14 Black team and continued playing Team Yakima the next four years. She played for Eisenhower High School and was named first team All-Conference in league play, and to the All-State Team her senior year. In college, Brenda played four years at Central Washington University as an outside hitter, won many awards in her career, and in 2006 was named to Central Washington University's Athletic Hall of Fame. After graduating from college, Brenda moved to the Seattle area and pursued a career with Microsoft. After moving back to Yakima in 2007, Brenda rejoined Team Yakima as a volunteer and has recently taken the role of the 12 Gold Coach. Brenda is currently a Product Manager for Tree Top Inc. in Selah.
Ally Moore: Ally’s first experience with volleyball was with Team Yakima as a 12-Gold player. She continued playing volleyball throughout high school and was a starting player for two consecutive state championship teams at West Valley High School, earning all-league honors. Ally is a Central Washington University graduate, pursuing her career in marketing for Horizon Distribution in Yakima.
Holly Mitzel: Holly’s volleyball career started with Team Yakima as a 12-Black player. She continued playing throughout high school both for West Valley and East Valley High Schools. Holly is a senior at East Valley High School and plans to continue her education next year at Yakima Valley College. This is Holly's second year coaching with Team Yakima.
Toni Leitz: This is Toni’s first year coaching team Yakima. She played for the West Valley School district for three seasons. Then moved on to play two seasons with Team Yakima.
Steve Standley: Steve has been involved with all aspects of volleyball for many years and plans to stay involved for a very long time. He has been a High School and College W.O.A Volleyball Official for the past 10 years on the Yakima and Tri Cities boards. He has been a part of USAV volleyball since 2007 and has coached the past four years as the U12 and U14 teams for Club KB of Tri Cities. This is Steve's second year coaching with Team Yakima.
