Comments: The girls started the season out with a bang in Tri-Cities! We were up against some very tough competition, but the girls played and worked hard together throughout the whole day! We lost the semi-final match in our bracket in the 3rd set 15-10, but started out down 12-5.The team fought hard through every set and it paid off as we finished 3rd in our bracket. Congratulations Black! You all played very well and should be proud of your finish!
About Alexie Loudin:
Alexie graduated from Pasco High School in 2007, and is currently working on her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with emphasis in math and science at WSU Tri-Cities. She started playing volleyball in 7th grade at McLoughlin Middle chool, and began playing club volleyball when she was a sophomore in high school -- due to a prior passion of BMX racing. Alexie played for Columbia Juniors Volleyball Club on the U-16 Black team her sophomore year and the U-17 Black team her junior year. She played Varsity as an outside hitter for Pasco, and was awarded All Conference Honorable Mention her junior year, and made 2nd Team All Conference her senior year. Also in her senior year, she started coaching club volleyball for the Desert Stingers U-12 team. This last year, she was hired at Pasco High School as the Junior Varsity Coach under Kylee Sixkiller as the Head Coach. Alexie credits Kylee's support as a key factor in bringing Alexie back into coaching the U-12’s with Team Yakima!
A random and interesting fact about Alexie: She raced BMX for seven years and won the State Championship Title in 2002 with a casted broken arm duct taped to the handle bars for two of the State Qualifiers!
